MASSIVE 2026 UPDATE: New Book, WWAD Anthology, General Update

“Kept you waiting, huh?”

Yeah, I guess I did. I’m sorry it’s been over a year since my last post or update. I’ve been more active recently, but mostly in Instagram and BlueSky.

Truthfully, last year was not a great year. I lost my grandfather almost a year ago, after he suffered a stroke in mid-May 2025. To say this loss was devastating is an understatement. I refused to stop writing, if anything, his slow decline and death were impetus to continue writing even more–I just couldn’t bring myself interact with the online world much at the same time.

But, I can proudly say, that impetus to keep writing has allowed me to come back here today with some amazing updates.

UPDATE 1: NEW BOOK!

First and foremost: I have a new book. It is done-ish, sitting in the hands of several beta readers, and an editor. I’m still trying to figure out an exact release date, but it’s looking like December of this year, or very early 2027. I’ll have more on an exact date later–before the cover reveal!

I can however, reveal the name of the book, the series and the cover artist!

This new book is titled As Rapid As The Wind and is the first in a new series referred to as The Kamigoye.

The cover art will be done by: MoRanZhu. Please give them a follow! Their art is wonderful!

Also, I can say that I’m hoping to have some pre-order and early purchase bonuses for this one, and maybe even some in person events for anyone local to my part of Canada. Still figuring out logistics, but I’m working hard on making that a reality!

UPDATE 2: WWAD ANTHOLOGY

The second update I have is that I have been chosen to be included in the first We Write At Dawn Anthology: Volume 1 – Defiance. The first anthology volume from this writing community is, as the title describes, themed on Defiance in all forms.

You can visit the Creative’s website by clicking here.

The anthology is out June 30th, and I will be posting reminders on my social until then, and the purchase link once that goes up!

UPDATE 3: NEW COVER ART

The third and final update is something that may or may not come as a surprise to readers.

I have been in contact with a proper cover artist, and in the coming months, I will be updating the cover art for Dragonkin and Phantoms to something more…apropos for a fantasy novel.

When I first started as an Indie author, funds were a bit more limited and my experience even moreso. My first cover artist did a fine job, but it never fully captured what I wanted in the cover art for this series.

Later, when Phantoms came out, I decided to redo the cover art myself to have congruence between all covers. My attempts were passable, but again, not really what I wanted.

Now that fund are a bit more plentiful, and I have the expertise to know who and what to look for in a cover artist, I think I’ve selected the correct one for the job.

Again, while I can’t reveal the art right now, I can reveal who I’ve asked to redo the cover. It’s Kateryn Vitkovskaya. You can follow her on Instagram here and ArtStation here. She also has a YouTube channel here.

Well, that’s all I have for now. More updates to come in the near future as I get closer to reveals for cover art, release date, and more!

Thank you again for all your support–there’s not a whole lot of you on the subscriber list, but everyone who has and still is subscribed I appreciate you sticking around. I promise, I try to make the wait worth it!
