Hoo boy. This one has taken me longer than I expected.
There have been delays, writers block, general exhaustion, but I can finally confidently say that this book, Phantoms, will be out this year.
I have written and rewritten this book, making sure I’m absolutely happy with every plot point, and making sure all the threads going across these six books line up and connect properly. I abhor a plot hole!
Plus, the book is turning out to be 100-150 pages longer than I had originally expected/wanted, and I’ve only just recently come to terms with the fact that sometimes that’s okay. It’s fantasy, and the more layers you add, the more pages there will have to be.
My personal goal is to have it out by the end of the summer. Which includes time to get it beta read, edited, tweaked, re-edited, and hand out ARCs to reviewers who might be interested.
I want to have a cover reveal by end of May-June.
I know this has taken longer than I expected, and honestly, I’m sorry that it’s taken so long, but I promise it’s because I’d rather put out a book I am 100% happy with now and will be happy with 20 years from now, rather than rush it through to meet an arbitrary deadline that I set for myself, and cut corners to get there.
I wouldn’t be proud of that, and I don’t think any readers would appreciate it either.
Patreon backers will soon have access to the first 3 chapters of the most recent draft in the next week or so. It won’t be polished or edited, but it’s as close to the final version without being a final version.
I thank you guys again for your patience, and I promise you, this will be a book worth waiting for!
