Update on Writing and Website Posts

Some of you may have noticed that I’ve been posting more here regularly (weekly, on Wednesday at Noon EST) for the past month or so.

After this week’s post on Wednesday, I will be reducing the frequency of posts to every two weeks. Posts will still come out on Wednesdays at 12pm EST. That means that after tomorrow, the next post won’t be until December 22nd, and every two weeks from there.

If in future, I am able to go back to weekly, or certain larger topics require me to post more frequently, I will definitely let you guys know. For now, bi-weekly works best for me and my schedule, especially when in regards to my writing.

Speaking of my writing, my work on Phantoms goes well!

Book 2 is still on track for a 2022 release, though I don’t have a month or date set yet. I’m still working on making sure this book is everything I want it to be and more. I want to ensure it meets my standards, and that it handles the story I’m telling in a way I’m happy with.

I’m hoping that, if not by Christmas, than by the New Year, I’ll have another sneakpeak available for you guys to read here on the website, and I want the first 3 chapters available for Patreon members (so check that out here if you haven’t yet. There’s a lot of stuff on and that will be on the Patreon that most people won’t see or read for YEARS.)

While I have all of the books in at least a first draft status up until the fourth book in this series, and the whole series plotted until the end, the many of these drafts are now, not only old, but invalid. I’ve been working on this series for over a decade after all.

I would write and rewrite my work every few years, updating the writing style and the plot as the world grew around me. But since publishing Dragonkin, the threads I’ve cast in that novel have created a butterfly effect throughout my whole story, and each novel strays further from the original plot.

And I’m perfectly okay with that. Writing should grow. The final draft should never resemble the first draft too much. But it also means I now need to make each of these plot threads is carefully woven into the tapestry of my work, no threads are left loose, and no holes are left in the fabric of my story.

Those plot holes can be really hard to patch if you miss them before publishing.

Because of this, it’s taken longer to work on Phantoms than I’d original hoped. Couple that with a day job, my personal life, and the occasional dip in my mental health, even the best laid plans go awry.

But I promise I’m still working to get this book out to anyone interested in reading.

To the few of you who read this, thank you for your patience, and thank you for your continued support. Even if it’s just reading these posts every week, or two weeks now. Everything is appreciated, nothing is insignificant.

I’ll be back soon, I promise!
